One day before I weigh in, and I'm actually looking forward to this... it is, really, about time! Okay, what did  I do today? Rebekah and Ruth were with me this afternoon. I dropped them off somewhere in Kenosha, while I did some errands. We hooked up a couple of hours later at about 3 o'clock and we had yet to eat lunch (we did have a late breakfast). Rebekah hinted saying," Are you going for a last hurrah?"
Of course I was already thinking about it, so I was quick to say, "I was thinking about it."
"What about Golden Corral ?"  I added. They both said that it was up to me, so we ended up at the buffet giant.
At least at Golden Corral I could get some healthier choices. I started out with a salad - I really do like salad. I could eat just salad for a meal and I would be fine. But not now! After the salad I had the main course, or maybe I should say courses. It consisted mainly of hot veggies which I also like. After that I was full, and ready to distance myself from all buffets, for at least a time. It is really important,  for weight loss, to regulate the amount of food you eat at each meal, and buffets make it too tough. You know... you've got to get your money's worth.
On the way home, I told my daughters that I couldn't believe the amount of salt they put in everything, and it's not just Golden Corral. Even the salad was salty mainly due to the dressing and sunflower seeds. The vegetables were as a whole, too salty for me. I have been cutting down on salt for over a year now, and now use it sparingly. Now I taste the salt in everything and some times it is a little sickening. Salt is a major cause of a lot of health problems in America. Cut down now, while you still can! And drink plenty of water too... I'll save that for another time.

On May 1st, I am going to start my weight loss venture. It has been a long time coming, but to be truthful I have been on some weight loss plans several times, in the past few years, all to no avail. Being over 50, less active, sitting more in my chair by my computer, and still eating the same food portions I did years ago has "caught up to me"! I'm determined more than ever! Coming soon... the official weigh-in !
