New Year's Day

Picture
New Year's Day! What fun! Every meal is greatly looked forward to, as Dad is the official gourmet chef for the day and takes care of all the meals. Breakfast usually consists of two large breakfast quiches with broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, and lots of other good things. Everyone dresses up and waits for the big arrangement that makes up lunch. Dad has platters of vegetables and fruits, and his all hand-crafted dips to go with them. He'll also have platters of crackers, chips, cheese, and breads, and dips to go with these as well. His dips are very famous in our family. He usually makes at least six different kinds of dips for his New Year's Day feast, and every one of them goes fast! The dips for last year were: peanut butter, cinnamon, strawberry, veggie, mustard, and cheese. The dips and platters of food line our 14 foot table from one side all the way to the other! And by the time everyone is finished almost all of that will be eaten.
