One day at a time...

A friend was expressing her financial worries to me and mentioned that when I had a family of my own, I would know more of what responsibility felt like. I just had to laugh. Responsibility is something I've known since I was very young. Helping meet the needs of a family of 16 is definitely a full-time job in its own!
I think the reason that she was skeptical about my having any financial constraints of my own is the fact that I seldom voice worries or concerns over such matters. So people sometimes come to the conclusion that there is no such worries for me. That is not exactly true. There have been plenty of times that money has been in short supply and bills, fast approaching. The difference for our family is that we don't dwell on what we have not, but we have. Can you imagine if we worried every time the finances were running low? We'd be one worn out family from all the worrying we'd  have to do!
A lot of it comes down to trust... trusting that God will provide, and that when we absolutely need the money, it will be there. And He always does, and it always has been.
So why worry about money and finances? Take one day at a time. Today there is enough. Tomorrow God will take care of when it comes. Stressing over it will not make anything better, only worse.

"...Don't worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is'n't life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky: they don't sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you worth more than they?..."
"Therefore don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
                                                                                                                           -Matt. 6:25-26,34
